Sears is backing stores built in the Selfridges style. Two more areplanned in the UK.
It is opening a second store in Manchester this year at a cost of£20m. The company is now looking for a third site, probably inGlasgow.
The expansion comes as Sears announced plans to demerge Selfridgesthis summer. The company also announced it was taking multi-millionpound charges for restructuring its operations, principally the shoeretailing outlets which are being sold off.
