The South East Development Agency (SEEDA) and English Partnerships have completed the latest masterplan for the development of the East Cowes Project.
The outline planning application is for a 22-acre mixed-use development which includes the former GKN North Works, the Sylvan Avenue housing site, Venture Quays, Trinity Wharf, the existing Red Funnel marshalling yards and the Well Road car park.
The plan includes:
· around 550 new houses,
· 37,000 sq ft of retail including bars and restaurants,
· a 21,000 sq ft foodstore
· and community and maritime heritage facilities.
The outline planning application will be submitted to the Isle of Wight Council in December 2005.
The plan, which differs to the masterplan exhibited in July, will be shown on 25th and 26th of November at East Cowes Town Hall.
