SEGRO has inked a new 10-year lease with Air Canada at Heathrow Cargo Centre.
The firm has opted to extend its stay at a 87,400 sq ft facility.
Alan Holland, SEGRO’s business unit director for Greater London, said: “[The lease extension] is testament to our long-standing relationship and the continued strong demand for freight-handling space in close proximity to the airport. This letting will ensure that Heathrow Cargo Centre remains at full occupancy.”
SEGRO’s Heathrow Cargo Centre provides warehouse space, loading areas and parking for cargo handlers. As well as Air Canada, occupiers include DHL Aviation, WFS, Airworld Airlines, Air France and Menzies Aviation.
Separately, SEGRO’s East Midlands Gateway logistics park is bidding to be one of the four Heathrow Airport logistics hubs across the UK.
After the positive vote by parliament for Heathrow’s expansion in June, a delegation from the airport management visited the 700-acre site as part of a tour of 65 locations under consideration.
The sites have until Friday (18 January) to showcase why they should be involved in the infrastructure project.
