Segro marks launch of Gatwick Links with 30,000 sq ft deal?

Segro has let 30,000 sq ft at its Gatwick International Distribution Centre, West Sussex, to garden products company Bosmere Products.

Bosmere has taken three units at the centre as it moves from a 10,500 sq ft building owned by Segro in Portsmouth, Hampshire, where it had been based for 30 years.

The letting is the first from Segro’s newly launched Gatwick Links portfolio, which brings together Segro’s investments in the area with new properties from its acquisition of Brixton last year.

The new cluster includes the Gatwick International Distribution Centre, comprising 29 warehouses from 2,551 to 21,625 sq ft, Gatwick Gate, where Segro has nine units ranging from 10,021 to 23,923 sq ft, and eight units at Gatwick Runway, from 8,138 to 45,209 sq ft.

Segro asset manager Ceri King said: “Following our acquisition of Brixton, we were able to offer the company a solution which met their specific requirement for larger, flexible space in the Gatwick/Crawley conurbation and enabled them to surrender their existing leases in Portsmouth.

“The deal simplified the relocation process for the company and demonstrates the benefits of our wide-ranging property portfolio, which is able to provide flexible expansion opportunities for regional businesses.”

Agents for Segro’s Gatwick Links portfolio are Vail Williams and FTD Johns.
