SEGRO has warned that building warehouses is getting more expensive as labour and material costs rise.
It said its costs had been rising sharply over the past year, but the impact had become more pronounced since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, which has pushed up the prices of energy and commodities such as steel.
SEGRO said it expects higher building costs to be passed to occupiers, for which rents have risen sharply.
