Select to develop Edinburgh digs

Student-digs-THUMB.jpegSelect Property Group has secured planning permission for a £41m student accommodation scheme at Fountainbridge in Edinburgh.

Operating under Select’s Vita Student brand, the residence will comprise 261 self-contained studios, a 5,000 sq ft social hub area including private study rooms, a movie room and gym. The residence will open  in September 2017.

The development will also feature three retail and leisure units and marks the final phase of the city’s Fountainbridge Regeneration Scheme, which includes retail, office and residential accommodation.

Ken Knott, chief development officer of Select Property Group, said: “Select is immensely proud to be advancing the final phase of the Fountainbridge Regeneration Scheme and today’s news is a significant milestone for our business and the latest step in us bringing the Vita Student brand to Scotland.
