Budget 2014: George Osborne has announced a £150m boost for self-build homes.
The government is consulting on a new “Right to Build” scheme. This would give custom builders the right to buy plots of land from local authorities on which they could build their own properties. A £150m repayable fund will help provide up to 10,000 serviced plots for custom-designed housing.
