Selfridges Group forms flexible workspace partnership

Landlord Selfridges Group has signed a management agreement deal on a new flexible working location at 388-396 Oxford Street, with operator Fora.

Works on the building, next to the flagship Selfridges department store, will complete in autumn 2021.

Fora, which will offer both shared and private workspaces, will occupy six storeys across the second and seventh floors.

The building provides around 45,000 sq ft of commercial space in total, of which almost half will be retail. Up to four shops will front Oxford Street and Duke Street. The ground floor space was previously occupied by French Connection.

Irish architecture firm Grafton Architects has been commissioned to redesign the building, and will work alongside Piercy & Company Architects.

Tim Reade, head of asset management at Selfridges Group, said: “Creating a flexible workspace in our redesigned building will allow us to continue to cultivate a young, creative community in the Duke Street neighbourhood surrounding Selfridges & Co.

“It will also enable the building to be used more intensively and beyond traditional office hours, helping to consolidate Selfridges’ unique and iconic presence in the Oxford Street district.”

Fora currently occupies 11 locations, with a further two offices expected to launch in Shoreditch and Fitzrovia in the coming months.
