Selly Oak revamp set for nod

Outline plans for a major mixed-use scheme on the site of the partly defunct Selly Oak hospital will go before Birmingham planners next Thursday.

The residential-led proposals comprise 650 homes, offices targeting the financial and professional services sectors, restaurants, cafes and pubs.

The plans have been minded for approval, subject to a section 106 agreement.

The hospital becomes surplus to the University Hospital Birmingham NHS Trust later this year.

The site is close to the A38 corridor from the south of Birmingham into the city.

GVA is advising The University Hospital Birmingham NHS Trust on the plans.
