Retailer Sephora is to open its second UK store in September at Hammerson’s 74,500 sq m (801,937 sq ft) 80-store flagship building at West Quay, Southampton. Sephora’s first UK store opened at Bluewater in April.
It is estimated that the store will be let at Zone A rents of between £235 per sq m to £245 per sq m. The Sephora lease will be a standard one at 15 years, with a five-year review.
Sephora is the leading chain of perfume and cosmetics stores in France and the second largest in Europe. It has 103 stores in France and 50 stores in the US. Sephora’s 2,000 sq m (215,28 sq ft) global flagship store opened in the Rockefeller Center, New York, in October 1999.
