Shaftesbury has hired Aviva Investors’ central London offices asset manager Isabel Thomas to lead its offices segment, in a newly created role.
As the West End landlord’s new head of offices, Thomas will be responsible for managing Shaftesbury’s 400,000 sq ft offices portfolio, as well as ongoing office refurbishment and development schemes.
Shaftesbury said her hire “demonstrates the group’s commitment to this segment of the portfolio”.
Thomas will join Shaftesbury on 26 April. During her time at Aviva, which she joined in 2016, Thomas was responsible for maximising the performance of its central London office assets through development, refurbishment and leasing programmes.
Before that, she was a senior surveyor at Cushman & Wakefield, focusing on central London occupier representation.
The hire comes after Shaftesbury recruited former Selfridges Group asset manager Leonora Forrest as a portfolio manager for its Chinatown properties and ex-Savills associate Phil Canby as portfolio manager for Seven Dials, both in January this year.
Brian Bickell, chief executive, said: “Their extensive asset management experience will be invaluable to the group as we continue to support our tenants through the challenges of the pandemic, while preparing our villages for the safe return of the workers and domestic visitors, which will herald the start of the West End’s recovery.”
