Shard confirms third letting of 2016

The-Shard-SE1The Shard, SE1, has welcomed its third tenant of 2016.

REM has let 16,875 sq ft on level 11 of the building to Dods Group.

The media company has taken a 10-year lease for its new corporate headquarters and will move from its current base on Dartmouth Street, SW1, to London Bridge in September 2016.

The deal follows marketing agency Jellyfish and fashion retailer Matchesfashion.com taking space earlier in the year.

There are now 28 occupiers at the building, which is almost 90% let.

Irvine Sellar, developer and co-owner of the Shard and vice-chairman of REM, said: “Dods is a respected and highly trusted provider of intelligence in the political arena. It joins a host of other publishing houses in the London Bridge area, which is quickly becoming the epicentre of the capital’s media industry.

“The Shard’s connectivity to both Westminster and the company’s clients was an important consideration, but the opportunity to be part of a busy and diverse office eco-system in a vibrant neighbourhood sealed the deal. Interest in the remaining office space remains strong from an interesting mix of potential occupiers as we approach full capacity.”

Guy Cleaver, chief operating officer at Dods, said: “Our move to this iconic building is an important part of Dods’ growth plans. The Shard offers us a modern and flexible space, appropriate to accelerate the transformational plans and performance expectations in place for our business, both in the coming months and future years.”

JLL and Knight Frank are leasing agents on the Shard. Morgan Price advised Dods.
