The Shard, SEI, has secured two new lettings, to Malaysia’s Khazanah Nasional Berhad and the Medical Protection Society.
Real Estate Management, which manages the building, confirmed MPS had signed a 15-year lease for the entire 22,308 sq ft 19th floor.
The protection organisation for doctors, dentists and healthcare professionals, will move from its present headquarters at 33 Cavendish Square, W1.
The letting to Khazanah Nasional Berhad, on which REM declined to comment, is the Malaysian sovereign wealth fund’s first office in western Europe.
Shard developer and co-owner Irvine Sellar said: “MPS will join other industry leaders in our vertical city when it moves to the building at the beginning of 2017.
“We have just three full floors available to let out of 72, and with strong interest from a number of sectors we look forward to announcing more companies moving into the building very soon.”
The 72-floor building is now 88% let and has achieved office rents in excess of £90 per sq ft. The remaining space in the building is available from £60 per sq ft.
JLL and Knight Frank are leasing agents on the Shard.
