Shares in Countryside Properties had a successful first day of trading on the stock exchange, ending the day at 240p, 15p above the offer price, and valuing the company at £1.08bn.
The initial price range for the share offer had been 225p-275p, but the recent stock market volatility meant the shares were sold at the bottom end of the range.
