Shepherd herds 24 Scottish lots to auction

Shepherd Chartered Surveyors’ latest auction next week will feature 24 lots of commercial property and development land located across Scotland.

Among the lots for sale, there will be a former police box (pictured) in Edinburgh, located immediately off the crossroads between Cowgate, Pleasance, Holyrood Road and St Mary’s Street, within the Old Town district.

The auction will also offer an opportunity to acquire two separate Forestry and Land Scotland sites in Fearnoch, Argyll, and St Bride’s Church and Churchyard, Alford, Aberdeenshire.

Elsewhere among the lots there will be a former Tourist Information Centre in Bowmore, Isle of Islay; a former primary school in Dumfries with scope for redevelopment, subject to planning; and Railway Paths’ two sites in Mount Vernon, Glasgow, and Newcraighall, Edinburgh.

Dunain House, located on a 5.85-acre site just outside Inverness, is also on the block and so is a former Scottish Water distribution service reservoir site, which sits at the Port of Monteith.

Steve Barnett, managing partner at Shepherd Chartered Surveyors, said: “Auctions offer the ability to sell all types of land and commercial property through our expansive network while providing transparency and simplicity of the process.

“We anticipate interest to not only emerge from within the local and national market but bidders to emerge throughout the UK, given our far-reaching marketing campaigns.”
