Stead & Simpson’s takeover of Peter Briggs will see the closure of the head office in Wigston, Leicestershire.
The deal gives Stead & Simpson another 40 outlets in addition to the 430 they already own.
Analysts now expect the company to prepare for a stock market listing, possibly through a reverse takeover of Oliver Group.
