SHP plans Glasgow student scheme

Student-THUMB.jpegSalmon Harvester Properties has submitted a planning application for a student-led, mixed-use development in Glasgow city centre.

SHP, a joint venture company between Salmon Developments and NFU Mutual, is proposing to demolish existing buildings on the corner of Argyle Street and Miller Street and replace them with a nine-storey development with an end value of £18m.

Plans submitted to Glasgow city council include a managed 132-bed student accommodation with 5,683 sq ft of amenity space on the first, second, third and roof levels in addition to 5,209 sq ft of retail space at ground floor and basement level.

The proposals have been designed by architects Darling Associates.

Rorie Henderson, development director at Salmon Harvester Properties, said: “It is a superb investment opportunity that will attract further economic activity to this part of Glasgow’s principal retail area and deliver much-needed student accommodation.”

GVA and SGA are advising SHP.
