Newham Council will get 1,050 new affordable homes under the section 106 agreement for the 3,000-home redevelopment of Silvertown on the Royal Docks, E16, by the Silvertown Partnership.
Plans for the 62-acre GLA-owned site were approved last year by the then mayor of London Boris Johnson, although planning is only now official with the signing of the section 106 agreement.
The scheme will include more than 50 commercial buildings for 1.9m sq ft of offices and 3.1m sq ft of shops.
The Silvertown Partnership is being advised on planning by Quod.
