Former Tory donor and construction boss Sir James Wates has urged the government to follow Labour’s lead on planning reform and infrastructure investment.
Writing in The Times ahead of Wednesday’s Autumn Statement, Sir James Wates said the government needed “to show leadership and match the opposition’s commitments”.
Despite having donated £50,000 to the Conservatives in 2017, this year he attended the Labour Party Conference.
