Investment manager Berkshire Investment Capital has appointed Sir Paul Clarke as a non-executive director.
Sir Paul was the chief executive of the Duchy of Lancaster, which has £428m of assets under management, for close to 13 years until his departure in August last year.
He has also acted as investment manager of Wellcome Trust and chairman of the advisory board of the CBRE Global Investors’ UK Property Income Fund.
He is to advise on an “expansive agenda” at Berkshire Investment Capital, which was set up by Steven Glancy and Nigel Reynolds in 2009. It specialises in asset management, planning and development projects.
The firm is working with Development Securities to ?bring forward an £85m mixed-use redevelopment, Cross Quarter on a 10-acre site in Abbey Wood, SE2.
Glancy said: “We are extremely pleased that Paul has agreed to join us. Since Nigel [Reynolds] and I formed Berkshire four years ago we have been able to establish a strong and profitable business model, which we are certain, with Paul’s experience and guidance, will go from strength to strength.”
Sir Paul added “Undoubtedly the time is right for a more expansive agenda and the considerable expertise that is at Berkshire Investment Capital will be seeking new opportunities in 2014.”
