SJ Berwin was named Real Estate Team of the Year at the 2005 Legal Business Awards last night.
Real estate partner Jon Vivian accepted the award, given in recognition of two deals: advising Prestbury on the £400m joint venture acquisition of 135 of Travelodge’s 240-plus hotels and advising Brixton on the £600m acquisition of Industrious Holdings.
The Planning & Environment Team of the Year award went to Eversheds for advising the London Development Agency in connection with the British Olympic bid.
It obtained planning permission for the intended sports, commercial and residential facilities in 13 months.
Law Firm of the Year was scooped by DLA Piper Rudnick Gray Cary, following the merger of DLA and US law firm Piper Rudnick LLP in December.
