The Sloane Hotel, in Draycott Place, SW3, has been sold by its private owner to Italian hotel group San Domenico Hotels for more than £7.5m.
The hotel – which comprises two interconnected, freehold, red brick Victorian buildings has 20 bedrooms – will now be rebranded as The San Domenico House.
It is the first UK purchase for the group, which also owns the Masseria San Domenico hotel in Brindisi, Italy.
Dominic Mayes, head of hotels at Knight Frank, which sold the hotel, said: “We were delighted with the interest received in The Sloane Hotel, which predominantly came from European hoteliers looking for a presence in London.
‘The interest was such that the hotel sold for in excess of the asking price, which demonstrates a strong belief by overseas operators in the London market.”
