South Cambridgeshire District Council has agreed to serve injunctions on Travellers at the encampment outside the village of Cottenham.
The Travellers have persistently failed to comply with planning enforcement notices.
It could man jail for the Irish families residing at Smithy Fen. Meanwhile, families camped on the Pine View section of the site have until the middle of next month to leave. The council hopes it will not be forced into injunctive action there.
