SNC-Lavalin of Canada is to acquire design consultancy WS Atkins in a £2.1bn deal.
The price per share of £20.80 in cash represents a premium of 35% on the UK company’s closing share price on 31 March.
The acquisition will create a fully integrated professional services and project management company, SNC-Lavalin said.
