Social and charity: Eddisons gets physical for charity

A 30-strong team from Eddisons’ building and project consultancy are taking part in physical group challenge to raise £5,000 for the Brain Tumour Charity by the end of July.

The colleagues, who are based across the firm’s Leeds, Manchester, Newcastle, Cambridge and Peterborough offices, are attempting to cover 5,000 miles in one month by running, walking, swimming and cycling to support a colleague who has been affected by the disease. The group is aiming to raise £1 for each mile completed.

The Brain Tumour Charity is the world’s leading brain tumour charity and the largest dedicated funder of research into the condition.

Buccleuch Property lays down the challenge

Buccleuch Property has partnered with Borders Children’s Charity as its fundraising partner for the 2021 Buccleuch Property Challenge.

The charity supports children enduring poverty, sickness and distress in the Scottish borders. This year’s challenge will take place on 10 September at Drumlanrig Castle in Dumfries and Galloway. It will pit property peers against each other in a test of fitness, stamina and mental capacity in a range of outdoor pursuits.

Now in its 14th year, the challenge has raised more than £140,000 since it was established, helping a variety of charities, such as Projekt 42, Ovarian Cancer Action and children’s charity Seamab School.
