ProKart Challenge goes to the wire
The Property ProKart Challenge saw the closest finish in its 19-year history.
The industry’s annual motorsport event, in association with Estates Gazette, at Daytona Milton Keynes, saw 16 teams from across the property industry race over six hours in Daytona’s Sodi RT8 karts on the international circuit.
Clive Emson Auctioneers was victorious with 289 laps, only 40 seconds off beating reigning champs London & District. Cowell Group came third, completing the challenge in 288 laps.

Classic cars drive fundraising total
JLL’s annual charity Classic and Sports Car Reliability Run raised nearly £6,000 for Starlight Children’s Foundation.
The event attracted almost 90 leading professionals from Birmingham’s property and wider business community including Nurton Developments, Opus Land, LCP Properties and Prologis, arriving at the event in a Bentley GT Speed, 1955 Chrysler New Yorker Sedan and Triumph Spitfire.
The event was organised by Nigel Simkin of JLL and supported by EOS Interiors.
Colliers runners take on Royal Parks half
A team from Colliers International took on the Royal Parks Foundation Half Marathon last week, raising money for charity and achieving personal bests. The group of 15 raised almost £5,000 for mental health charity Mind and £365 for Cancer Research UK.
Bidwells gets on its bike for charity ride
More than 70 cyclists took part in Bidwells Golden Triangle Bike Ride for children’s charities EACH, ROSY, CHAS, Starlight, Leo’s Appeal and Adam’s Fund.
The challenge from London via Oxford and Milton Keynes to Cambridge, totalled 177 miles, which is the number of years the firm has been in business. The ride was completed over two days and has so far raised £13,500.
Cyclists included the firm’s senior partner, Patrick McMahon, and clients Beard Construction, Industry, SDC, Citygate Developments and Balvraid Properties.
Yorkshire takes aim
Yorkshire Construction Industry took aim at Knaresborough shooting range for the second annual clay pigeon shooting competition.
Robin Beagley, from WSB Property, took the winning shot, with Darren Chapman of Dunster Consulting and Simon Williams of PBH Rail in York taking runners-up spots.
The event was organised by CGL.
Bilfinger shows a new side of Manchester
Bilfinger GVA celebrated the winners of its third annual architectural photography competition at the National Football Museum in Manchester. This year’s theme was re-discovering Manchester. Students were asked to spotlight alternative areas of the city. Winners were decided by a public vote. Best single image (above) was won by Jacob Caulfield, and best portfolio by Ulysse di Meglio.
