Housing association L&Q and Canary Wharf Group are among the latest real estate-focused businesses to sign up to a social value measurement platform.
Social Value Portal’s other new additions include social housing company Mears. The new names join companies such as Landsec, Savills, Brookgate and Ellandi in using the platform and its National TOMs framework to track and report on social value contributions. Social Value Portal chief executive Guy Battle described real estate as “an early adopter of social value”.
Matt Corbett, director of the L&Q Foundation, said: “Our work in the housing sector provides us with multiple opportunities to improve the lives of people with a wide range of needs, giving us a social purpose that drives our business forwards. The next logical step is to measure and report the positive impact in a way that stakeholders, communities, clients and investors can appreciate.”
Jane Hollinshead, managing director of people and culture at CWG, said the company recognised “our responsibility to create a positive and lasting impact within our communities and generate opportunities for those in greatest need.”
