Sofitel plans to invest heavily in the US real estate market. It has already opened two hotels, one in New York and one in Philadelphia. The company plans to invest $450m in five hotels for properties in Washington, Chicago, Dallas, Toronto, Boston and Seattle by 2001-2002.
Sofitel will also embark upon other projects like hotels in international capitals such as Tokyo and London; holiday resort in Cancun, a convention centre in Costa do Sauipe in Brazil and airport hotels in Frankfurt and Athens.
