Soho café features in Allsop’s July sale

Soho institution Bar Italia is among 124 lots set to go under the hammer in Allsop’s July auction.

The café (pictured) on Frith Street, W1, which has an alcohol licence and is allowed to trade until 5am seven days a week, is listed with a guide price of £2m-plus for the 6 July online sale. It is let at £175,000 pa.

In Golders Green a mixed-use building is guided at £6m-plus. The 15,469 sq ft premises produces rent of £351,420 pa, while the 3,686 sq ft second floor is vacant. The guide reflects a price of £320 per sq ft overall.

While lot prices start at £50,000, a total of 29 lots are guided at £1m and above, with 30% of the catalogue being in London and the South East. Premises to be sold include gyms, pharmacies, industrial assets, shops, ground rent investments and restaurants.

Other highlights of the catalogue include a town-centre McDonald’s in Taunton let at £113,500 pa until 2028, guided at £1.4m-£1.5m, and a 10,203 sq ft multi-let industrial estate in Borehamwood, with total rent of £101,250 pa, guided at £2.5m-plus.

Allsop raised £63m at its most recent auction in May, reflecting a success rate of 90%. So far this year, 352 lots have been sold, with more than £204m raised, resulting in an overall success rate of 90%.

Despite this uncertainty, we are still able to tap into our extensive base of reliable cash-rich private investors, who are always engaged and looking to invest for the long term.”
