Soho Estates partners DofE scheme

Soho Estates has joined with youth charity The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award (DofE) to give homeless young people the chance to take part in the scheme.

The central London property company is supporting the youth charity to widen its reach to young people from all backgrounds.

Soho Estates, and the DofE are developing a pioneering project through a Soho hostel with London housing association, One Housing Group. Young homeless adults, supported by One Housing Group, will get the chance to do their DofE and complete a leadership programme to develop the confidence and life skills they need to get back on their feet.

The Soho Estates partnership is part of a groundswell of support for the DofE scheme as the property sector works to help young people facing high levels of unemployment.

Fawn James, director at Soho Estates, founded by her grandfather Paul Raymond, said: “Young people need all the help they can get at the moment. We believe The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award is something that everyone should have the opportunity to get involved in, whatever their background or circumstances. For young people that have found themselves homeless and in need of a wide range of support, this is a real chance to change their future and we are really excited about partnering with the DofE in this exciting new project.”
