Soho House founder steps down

The founder of Soho House, Nick Jones, has is stepping down as chief executive.

In his 30 years at the helm, Jones has built Soho House from a single private members’ club into a global hospitality empire with 38 locations around the world.

Jones said he took the decision to stand down after being diagnosed with prostate cancer. The illness was caught early and the treatment was successful. “I am not only healthy again, but also cancer-free,” he wrote to members. However, “This experience has changed my perspective and focus,” he said.

Andrew Carnie, president of Membership Collective Group, the chain’s owner, will succeed Jones as chief executive.

MCG also runs Soho Works, a co-working space, luxury hotel brand The Ned and Scorpios Beach Club in Mykonos.
