Soho House makes a bigger Pizza East

Soho House Group has secured the leasehold of The Fat Badger on London’s Portobello Road, W10, from private owners for the expansion of its pizzeria concept, Pizza East.

The three-storey Fat Badger was bought off an asking price of £125,000. It has 20 years remaining on the lease and a passing rent of £65,000 pa.

Soho House Group’s Pizza East opened in Shoreditch in October 2009. It offers a modern take on the pizzeria, with the option to eat-in or take away, as well as an Italian-American Deli section.

Chris Bickle of Davis Coffer Lyons, which advised the private owners, said: “The site has a really excellent location, close to Ladbroke Grove and Notting Hill, which has a classic melting pot of cultures, making it a very unique part of London. The Soho House Pizza East concept has been incredibly popular in the East End, and the restaurant’s eclectic style will provide a really welcome setting for the clientele that this area also attracts.”
