Soho House set for new Mayfair members club

Members club operator Soho House is closing in on its next site, in London’s Mayfair. Planning officials at Westminster City Council have recommended approval for the company’s plans to turn 8 Lancashire Court, W1, from a restaurant and bar into a private members club. The building was home to the Hush restaurant. Hush founder Jamie Barber announced on social media last year that Soho House had acquired the lease on the site for “a substantial premium”, leaving his own business “free of bank debt” and with a “significant war chest”. Hush has moved to the site of its sister restaurant, Haché in Holborn.  The site will become Soho House’s seventh in the capital.
