Soho welcomes ‘living’ spiral staircase

WATCH: A living spiral staircase with open landings for reading and relaxing is the centrepiece of a newly completed office development in London’s Soho district.

It took 13 months to build, stands 12.5m high and completed last week.

Designed by Paul Cocksedge Studio, the staircase is a feature of the Ampersand, 178 Wardour Street, W1, scheme by Resolution Property. The building is owned by the Peterson Group.

Ampersand provides 64,000 sq ft of office space in the remodelled Soho Building.

Resolution Property’s Subjit Jassy said the building had attracted interest from both creative and financial services tenants.

“The launch only happened a week ago, so over the next two months we will pin down some of that interest,” he said.
