Solid deal for IM Properties

IM Properties let its 302,00 sq ft DC2 warehouse in Swindon, Wiltshire, to Oak Furniture Land, the UK’s largest retailer of solid hardwood furniture.

The retailer has agreed a 15-year lease on the property at a rent of £5.50 per sq ft.

The move will enable Oak Furniture to store and distribute its products from a single property.

The site also offers the opportunity of a 150,000 sq ft extension.

Oak Furniture Land property director, Steve Kettel, said: “The DC2 unit will provide us with the opportunity to streamline our storage and distribution processes, bringing the majority of our operations under one roof and allowing us to service our customers more effectively.”

The property had previously been let to supermarket chain Morrison’s, which vacated the site six months ago.

Cushman & Wakefield and Jones Lang LaSalle advised IM Properties.
