Michael Gove has been told by Boris Johnson to find a new solution to the cladding scandal.
The housing and levelling-up secretary has been told to intervene to put a stop to the scandal in an acknowledgement that the £5bn announced in February by Robert Jenrick will not solve the problem.
That scheme provided full government funding to replace the cladding on buildings only if they were of at least 18 metres.
