Somerfield extended yesterday’s deadline for indicative offers until Monday.
Insiders suggested that the delay was prompted by Apax Partners needing to sort out some issues with its bid. Apax is part of a consortium including Baugur and Robert Tchenguiz.
It is up against London & Regional, which was apparently still lined up to put in its offer yesterday.
