Sonic Communications is the latest occupier to sign up for Development Securities’ Birmingham International Park, near Birmingham International Airport.
The company, which manufactures security systems, has acquired 0.18ha (two acres) for the construction of a 2,787 sq m (30,000 sq ft) headquarters. Last year Rover took a pre-let on 15,793 sq m (170,000 sq ft) at the Park.
Development Securities is now marketing the remaining 8ha (20 acres) at prices ranging between £300,000 and £400,000 per acre.
Group Managing Director Michael Marks said: “We would not consider speculative development on the park although we would be happy to develop design and build options – the problem is one of size. This is a 2,787 sq m scheme and it would not be economic for a company like ours to undertake this on a speculative basis.”
Chesterton and Hillier Parker are joint agents on the Park.
