Four Seasons Health Care has completed the first phase of its agreement to take over 140 Southern Cross homes.
The company has taken over the operations of 57 homes. The remaining properties are due to transfer by the end of October.
Of the 140 homes, 45 are owned by Four Seasons.
Dr Peter Calveley, chief executive of the company, said: “These homes are an important strategic addition to our organisation and significantly increase our capacity and regional cover. They represent a good fit with our existing homes portfolio.”
