The completion of the closure of Southern Cross is imminent, with 743 care homes now transferred to new operators.
Southern Cross said another 24 homes have just moved to new owners, and five more operational properties will transfer within the next four weeks, as well as four non-operational homes.
“The process of operational wind down is now substantially complete,” the company said.
In addition, chief executive Jamie Buchan is today stepping down from the business.
