Developer Southern Grove has hired Bill Howard, a partner at law firm Shoosmiths, for the newly created role of group general counsel.
Howard has been a partner at Shoosmiths since 2006. He has worked for housing associations, local authorities and housebuilders, and specialises in joint ventures, large acquisitions and options and conditional contracts.
His appointment will support its project pipeline, which covers residential, hospitality and its purpose-built student accommodation division, Future Generation.
Andrew Southern, chairman of Southern Grove, said: “Bill has unrivalled experience in the property sphere, and we’ll be relying on his incisive legal knowledge to help us bring forward an ever-expanding pipeline of schemes.”
