Southwark Homes seeks funding for 444-bed PBSA scheme

Southwark Homes has appointed Savills to seek a forward funder for its 444-bed PBSA scheme in King’s Place, SE1.

The developer, who is working with Sellar, submitted plans for the £200m scheme in February.

King’s Place also includes eight affordable homes and 20,000 sq ft of flexible office and employment space.

James Hanmer, head of PBSA at Savills, said: “London, where there are 3.5 students for every single student bedroom, is one of the most undersupplied main PBSA markets in the UK, and the high calibre of the higher education on offer means demand for beds is intense.”

Construction is due to start in early 2024.
