Space let to Poundland at thecentre:mk

Hermes Real Estate and Prudential has agreed a letting to Poundland at thecentre:mk in Milton Keynes.

The value retailer has taken a 5,500 sq ft shop on a 10-year lease.

The premium quarter, a parade of high-end retailers such as Kurt Geiger, Phase 8 and Jones the Bootmaker, launched last year.

Following a £10m investment in Queens’ Court, thecentre:mk is soon to launch Destination Dining, a restaurant quarter introducing Carluccios, Café Rouge, Yo! Sushi and Nando’s.

Robert Goodman, centre director at thecentre:mk, said: “We are delighted that Poundland will be opening a store at thecentre:mk – our ambition for the centre when we started the enhancement programme two years ago was to improve the range and mix of retailers at the centre.

“While we have introduced a range of premium lettings in the last six months, we also launched a major new TK Maxx store, a strong signal that we have not forgotten the value end of the market and that one of the centre’s key strengths is the breadth of retailers we have on offer for our shoppers.”

CBRE and Gooch Cunliffe Whale acted for Hermes Real Estate and Prudential; Capital Retail acted for Poundland.
