The Spanish Ministry of Defence in Spain hopes to raise 1.07bn (Pts177.650bn) through the sale of 32,300 military houses in the next ten years. The average market value of the houses is 66,111 (Pts11m) and they will be sold to their tenants at an average price of 33,055 (Pts5.5m).
The Ministry currently owns 40,440 houses, 1,500 commercial premises and 9,000 garages. Everything will be sold except 7,000 houses which will be kept by the army. According to the Ministry, 85% of the tenants will agree to buy the properties, which will allow 3,230 houses to be sold annually over the next ten years.
