Spare NHS land should be used for homes for hospital staff

WEEKEND PAPERS:  Spare NHS land would be used to build 40,000 homes for key staff under proposals by the NHS Confederation, in a return to the nurses’ homes of the past.

Its chief executive, Niall Dickson, reckons there is a case for new-style homes for NHS staff and is calling for the government to create a £10bn NHS Homes Fund.

Sir Robert Naylor’s review of unused NHS land indicated it would provide private developers with space for up to 40,000 homes.
