Thomas Vale Construction is to develop Birmingham’s first speculative office scheme since 2008.
The firm beat bids from Bruntwood and a partnership between Trebor Developments and Hortons Estate to become council-owned Birmingham Science Park’s jv partner on the £35m Digital Plaza.
Plans include 120,000 sq ft of office and R&D space in four buildings. The first building, the 30,000 sq ft iCentrum, will be funded by the jv. The other three buildings will be built on a prelet basis. Plans for iCentrum will be lodged later this summer. GBR Phoenix Beard is advising.
