Mike Ashley, the secretive founder of Sports World International, broke cover yesterday to introduce himself to the City, declaring he wanted to make the sports retailer a global brand.
In a carefully scripted conference call, Ashley revealed that he needed more funds to fulfil his dream of making his company the world’s biggest and most profitable sports retailer.
There is growing speculation the private billionaire may float his business.
