British premium sports fashion brand Castore has agreed a deal to relocate its company headquarters from Liverpool to Manchester.
Castore has signed a 13-year lease to take all 22,100 sq ft of space at Kinrise’s One Central Street, occupying five floors of the building. Rents in the building range from £25-28 per sq ft.
Phil Beahon, Castore co-founder, said he was excited about moving the firm’s headquarters to the city.
“It is clear for everyone to see that Manchester is a city with an incredible buzz about it and the number of fast-growing, high-tech businesses in the city were a real draw for us when choosing our long-term home for Castore,” he said.
The scheme will not only include Castore’s HQ but will also house an innovation hub, product development studio and content studio.
Joanne Roney, chief executive of Manchester City Council, said the transfer of the firm’s HQ to Manchester was a significant investment for the city and would bring with it some 300 new jobs.
“The business has seen impressive growth since its founding, and this significant investment will create 300 jobs – another endorsement of the city’s strengths in areas such as digital and e-commerce,” she said. “We very much look forward to working with it, to both assist with its HQ relocation to the city and to match the talent in this city to the opportunities it brings.”
Castore currently has retail premises on London’s King’s Road and at Grosvenor’s Liverpool ONE scheme. It plans to open a further five stores around the UK within the next six months.
OBI advised on the deal.
