The City of London Corporation hopes to turn the capital’s oldest public park into a “haven for people and wildlife”.
A revamp of the two-acre, Grade II-listed Finsbury Circus Gardens has been given the go-ahead, including an “urban forest” in the west of the park and a “secret garden” pavilion café.
A spokesman for the City of London Corporation said: “As we recover from the pandemic, City workers, residents and visitors will be able to enjoy a new oasis of peace, quiet and greenery that is accessible to everyone.”
