Squire Patton Boggs signs for Premier Place

Law firm Squire Patton Boggs has agreed to move around the corner from its current office at 7 Devonshire Square into the top three floors at Premier Place, EC2.

The deal follows the withdrawal of advisory firm Gartner, which had placed the 61,624 sq ft offices under offer last year.

Greycoat and Morgan Stanley are refurbishing the former Royal Bank of Scotland office at 2-5 Devonshire Square. It is due to complete in September.

Finance firm Jane Street has prelet 145,000 sq ft on the ground to fifth floors.

Guide rents for the offices are understood to have been in excess of £60 per sq ft.

The refurbishment of the 1990s building, designed by Stiff + Trevillion Architects, will create around 205,000 sq ft of offices and 27,000 sq ft of shops and ancillary space, with terraces on the four upper floors.

Greycoat and Morgan Stanley acquired the property in November 2017 from RBS, which had about 6,500 desks in the building, for around £145m.

The sale was part of the bank’s £750m cost-saving plan unveiled in Q1 2017 and followed its departure from 135 Bishopsgate, EC2, where it occupied 340,000 sq ft.

BH2 and Cushman & Wakefield are advising Greycoat and Morgan Stanley.

Squire Patton Boggs, Greycoat and Morgan Stanley have been contacted for comment.
